"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies—God damn it, you've got to be kind."
-Kurt Vonnegut
Dear Children,
You're at the beginning of your life. You have so much more to look forward to. Don't sweat the small stuff. The things you're dealing with now are little blips on your time line and you'll most likely forget about them as your life goes on.
You are ever changing. From your body, to your thoughts, from your friends and your music taste. Like things as they come along but let them go when the time comes. You may think your friends are your world now, but in about 5 years I'll bet you've got new ones. Appreciate them but don't let them control you.
You don't need a boyfriend or girlfriend to make you happy. Yeah sure it's nice, but it's a lot of work as well. And if you somehow stumble upon love in this big big place. I hope you are sincere about it, I hope you don't screw it up and I plead you to cherish it.
You're going to cry ... you're going to cry a lot. you're going to feel like the world is crashing down on you at least a few times in your life. There are going to be bad days in your life, bad months, and bad years. I hope you drag yourself through them and carry on.
This world can be a dark, lonely place. Please, be the light that can guide people through it. Like Kurt Vonnegut said "you've got to be kind". Just ... be good.
Prove me wrong, show me there is still hope for humanity.
With love,
Just another person
